" Blessed is the man who
finds wisdom,
the man
who gains understanding,"
-- Proverbs 3:13
“The precepts, principles, and promises of Scripture
are the windows through which believers look to see
God and understand His glory and will for their
lives. Their response to the truths of God’s Word
also allows them to know if their faith is growing.
That growth is evident when [1] their knowledge of
God’s Word is increasing {Col. 3:16}; {2} their
confidence in God is greater than before [Eph 3:12];
{3} their trust in His sovereignty is stronger than
before {Job 42:2}; their obedience to Him is
consistent {Deut 17:19-20}; and they are finding joy
in their trials {Jas 1:2-3}”

Book of Romans .

Significant
questions of the study of Romans-
Part 1 and
Part 2
1] Romans 1: 18a The
Quality of God’s wrath is divine, God doesn’t lose
His temper, He cannot approve of evil in any form.
2] Romans 1:18b The Timing
of God’s Wrath is constantly being revealed, i.e.
Garden of Eden, Flood, Sodom & Gomorrah, Pharaoh’s
Army, Christ on the Cross !
3] Romans 1: 18c The Source
of God’s Wrath is rendered from Heaven, He inflicts
it, Christians are saved from God’s wrath, we are to
leave room for it.
4&5] Romans 1:18d the
extent & nature of God’s Wrath is Universal, against
all who deserve it, some being better than others
doesn’t cut it. His wrath is directed at all
sinners. Sin attacks His majesty & then His perfect
law.
6] Romans 1:18e The Cause
of God’s Wrath,” we who suppress the truth in
unrighteousness”. Because of man’s sinful
disposition we are naturally inclined to follow sin
and resist God.

What
issues are you struggling with in your life now?
Marriage, kids, career, moral values, something
else? Men, I don't know about you, but
there are a couple things I can tell you about
my walk with Christ that need to be changed, put
off, & grown in. Other areas my Lord has yet to
show me, and some I really don't seem to be able
to change. And you know what, I can keep evading
change in these areas as long as I can isolate
myself from God's Word, God's Spirit, & God's
men, my brothers at SMLCS, who will hold me
accountable. Jesus spoke to the heart of this
problem in John 8: 31& 32 "...if you
hold to my teaching you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth & the truth will
set you free." In other words, we must
come to him and his teachings for Truth. He
wants to free us from the entanglements of
habitual sin that hinders us from a life of
freedom He promises and really commands.
We
are challenging all men to join us Saturday
from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. Come join us for
this dynamic spiritual growth opportunity,
we're better together!
